Burt and Bazil the naughty puppies

I found these naughty puppies playing in the garden this morning. They are called Burt and Bazil. I like their wrinkly floppy ears. I believe they are looking for a good home .........

Pumpkins!!!

As summer comes to a close ..... its time for fall .... and Halloween (to me) is SO exciting .... so I have enjoyed making these patchwork pumpkins today. The pumpkins are made from sewing together recycled silk ties and measure approx 13"w x 9"h.

Animal Quilt

So here it is .... the product of many hours of sewing little pieces of material around little pieces of paper and then sewing them all together ....... I think maybe I've had this project going on for too long as I am not 100% thrilled with the result ........... I think that the elephant is my favourite animal due to his big soft floppy ear.
I have completed two patchwork baby quilts that will soon be available in my etsy store. These are really sweet little quilts and the backing is super soft snuggly white flannel.

Christmas is coming ....

Hurrah - the heat wave has broken ...... or have I hurrah'd too soon? The temperature is perfect .... its even dark and rainy - so hiding in my little cottage I'm feeling quite happy, at home and English.

I've finished the animal quilt and two other patchwork baby quilts - the only downside of the weather is that I am unable to go out and take pictures of them .... which leads me to think that perhaps another photo setting might be needed for the winter months! .....

So I've set myself a task of finishing some 1/2 completed projects ..... today it is Christmas Tree Skirts!!! (check out my Christmas Tree Skirt design page) oh another hurrah for Christmas ..... it is that time of year that we can hang dozens of sparkly things from a tree and not be judged too harshly for it!
... but before we get to Christmas there is Halloween ... and I have a feeling this Halloween will be an extra crafty affair .........

Jenny and Scott get married ....

I hear that the chuppah was well received at Jenny and Scott's wedding - and I am so pleased that I was able to contribute towards their big day. Megan's own wedding photographer Luke Walker has very kindly put some information about me on his blog http://www.lukewalkerphotography.com/blog/

Megan - who seems to be my new personal PR magnate - also wrote a lovely comment about the chuppah:
This was the most amazing chuppah creation I could have ever imagined. The bride and groom (as well as the parents)were in tears. There was a particularly beautiful part of the ceremony where the rabbi asked the bride and groom to look up at the chuppah and see all the messages of love and support that their family and friends had made. Rachael's work was creative (incorporating the bride's wishes as well as her own aesthetic suggestions), absolutely beautiful (outside in Vail, against the green Rockies), and impeccably done (every square set off with individually chosen fabric and every seam perfectly stitched). As the bride's mother said, Rachael has created an heirloom. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
I hope to be able to post more photos of the chuppah on my website soon.
