Recently I've been having giraffe envy (check out delightful softie giraffes at Hop Skip Jump) . Don't ask me why it has been giraffe envy ... because I actually have craft envy with most things I see. (That list of 'want to make' only gets longer these days.)
So off I set to make a giraffe. I tried to pick good colors - but then I've never been known for my wild and crazy choices - so safely I opted for orange and brown - at least if it is orange and has a long neck someone might recognize it as a giraffe?
Meet Gerald. 
Gerald is a lonely giraffe so we decided to take him to the Central Park Zoo to see if we could find him any friends.
We searched the map of the Zoo - but unfortunately there are no giraffes ...
... but don't tell Gerald ... because we told him that the Llama's were a type of giraffe too ... and he seemed happy enough with that.

Gerald is adorable. I just love his ears for some strange reason.
I have the same problem of choosing colors too :( . I try to get my daughter to help. She seems to have been with the color choosing gene that I lack.
Gerald is lovely. If he fancies a long trip I'd be happy to take him to Chester Zoo to meet the giraffes.

I think that your G-raff is G-orgeous! I too have had giraffe envy from Fiona's hopskipjump creations. She gave away a pattern for a giraffe in the last edition of Australian Homespun magazine. I made one each for the children for Christmas...(note to self...there's a post in that!) Mine might have been made using her pattern but they're missing that essential something that makes them Fiona's....Fiona I suppose!
I think your giraffe has it all because he's all yours.

Oh my goodness is he cute! I love how you always photograph your creations in playful settings. The pix of him looking at the zoo map are priceless!
